PLAIN TWP., Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – It’s not easy getting a new-money school levy passed, and the Plain Local district knows that better than anyone.
After dealing with failure back in May, district voters approved a 3.5-mill bond issue for 37 years to build three new elementary school buildings that will replace the current seven buildings.
That will also make 84-million dollars in additional state School Facilities Commission money available.
53% of voters said “yes”.
Superintendent Brent May has said the maintenance of the older school buildings is costing more than new construction.
